LOGLINE

When María is swept into her abuela Elena's daring midnight getaway to return to her rural Mexican hometown, the two flee against Celestina’s strict wishes - setting off on a music-filled journey to find Elena's late husband’s grave before Alzheimer’s erases her past, and forcing three generations of women to find harmony before time runs out.

SYNOPSIS

Set in the colorful and tradition-rich village of La Noria, the story follows three generations of the Moreno women, each caught between who she's supposed to be and who she longs to be.

When Elena — our radiant, sharp-tongued matriarch — convinces her granddaughter Maria to slip away on one last trip to her ancestral village of La Noria, the past and present collide. There, Elena reconnects with a long-lost flame, reawakening feelings buried alongside her late husband, while Maria discovers her own spark through fólkloric dance, vibrant traditions, and a budding sense of desire.

Close behind them is the ever-proper Celestina, racing to catch up through a string of misadventures involving broken-down buses, eccentric elders, and even an emotional support goat. But when she finally arrives, she’s confronted with a mother and daughter she barely recognizes... and a version of herself she'd long given up on.

At its core, the film is a vibrant, emotional musical about honoring the past while fearlessly dancing into the future.

Anchored by internationally recognized talent and supported by an experienced creative team, the film is positioned to resonate with both U.S. and Latin American audiences while maintaining strong festival and streaming potential.
